We here at Fate/CCC strive to recreate the feeling of a Fate series: Specifically, the mystery behind Servant identities! "But how can you keep that information hidden?" you might ask. Well sit down there you impatient grasshopper and I'll tell you how. Just follow the process outlined below, and nobody will know who you're dashing Servant is-- Unless you choose to tell them. That's on you.
For the purposes of this outline I'll be using Karna as an example, since he is one of the Canon characters on our Ban List.
With that out of the way, I'll be outlining below some basic questions I expect to be asked frequently. If you have a question that isn't on this list, feel free to ask one of the Staff.
Q: What about Canons? Everyone knows their Face Claims!
A: That is the unfortunate downside of creating Canons. We hope this inspires people to make Custom Characters. Ofcourse IC the secret will still be kept, but OOC everyone will know who your Servant is.
------
Q: What about other Servants whom they knew in their previous life?
A: Whenever a Servant is approved, we will let the player know if there are any other Servants that character should know from their previous life and be able to recognize. We're telling you to keep continuinity, not so you can flap your gob about it, so don't be a douche about it. Also keep in mind that it's a two way street, so we'll be telling anyone who could recognize your Servant as well.
------
Q: How will I know if a Servant idea is already taken?
A: Ask the Staff. It's generally a good idea to ask the Staff about any and all Servant ideas before you make them, just to make sure they're still open. If the Servant is already made or if they are currently off limits we will let you know. If the Servant is available, you can also temporarily reserve it, although you need to be clearly progressing on your profile to keep the Reservation.
------
Q: I'm new and I play a Master, how can I get into contact with someone to get a Servant?
A: You can find a Servant who doesn't yet have a Master rather easily by looking for those who still have ____ in place of a Master name in their Display names. Then you can PM them or try to contact them in our C-Box!
------
Q: I'm a Master, how can I choose a Servant if I don't know who they are?
A: Well you can ask and hope they tell you, or take a leap of faith!
------
For the purposes of this outline I'll be using Karna as an example, since he is one of the Canon characters on our Ban List.
Step One: Make an account for your Servant. And make sure you don't make the username something that will give away who your Servant is. For example, when making Karna I shouldn't make the username karna or sungod66 or ect. These can be seen even after you change your display name, so don't give it away right at the start!
Step Two: Change your Display name to "Class of X", where Class is the Class of your Servant and X is the name of your Servants Master. So if I was making Karna as a Lancer and his Master was to be Jinako, I would make his Display name "Lancer of Jinako." This is to avoid having 100 "Lancers" and "Berserkers"and etc running around. Don't have a Master yet? No worries, just leave a _____, so for example Karna would be "Lancer of ______". Simply change the display name once you have a Master!
Step Three: Post your profile in the [Data Type Confirmed: Servant] section of the [Data Loading: Please Wait] section. "But everyone will see my profile!" you cry out like an impatient twat. No they won't my foolish little grasshopper, for threads posted in this section can only be seen by Staff, and by those who have posted the Thread. So we can see it, you can see it, but nobody else can. Then the approval process begins.
Step Four: Once your profile is approved, your full profile will be moved into the Complete Servant Apps section of the Servant Matrix, where nobody but the staff and the poster can see it. At this point you'll be allowed to post an Approved Profile in the Servant Matrix, containing only basic information like Class, Class Skills, Parameters, and etc. Nothing that will give away who you are or your personal skills or Noble Phantasms. For anything that is hidden, simply put some question marks or something.
Step Five: You are now ready to post, provided you have a Master! At this point the Secret is on you to keep, so be careful who you tell OOC and what you post IC. As information about your Servant is revealed In Character, you're expected to update your profile with said information. Keep in mind, if you don't want to straight reveal who you are, using your Noble Phantasm might be a bad idea.
EXTRA: For those who might be familiar with Extra, then you would know that each Master is given a Private Room in which they can talk with their Servant freely without being overheard. Only the Master and Servant pair assigned to the room, along with anybody they personally bring with them, can access this room. This allows a Master/Servant pair to plan together and discuss information freely. We also have such Private Rooms, but how are we implementing them? The method might surprise you: PM! That's right. You can roleplay via PM in order to keep such communication secret and hidden from the prying eyes of the public. Unfortunately we could not use the same settings we used for Servant apps to do it.
With that out of the way, I'll be outlining below some basic questions I expect to be asked frequently. If you have a question that isn't on this list, feel free to ask one of the Staff.
