Overall Site Rules
- Everything in the Proboards ToS applies.
- Cursing is okay so long as it is not abused. We do not need sentences that end up reading "**** **** ****** ***** *****".
- Don't spam. Even if it is a small OOC post in response to something, try to put a few words into it beyond "Yes", "No", or "Ok". Actually using communicative skills is encouraged.
- Respect the staff and your fellow players. We all just want to get along and have fun, so don't start insulting people.
- Keep the drama out. Yes, people get stressed but you don't need to lash out at people here for it. Another one related to this is keep In Character and Out of Character relationships separate. This one in particular causes a lot of trouble, and I'm going to say this now. They are just characters. Just because a character waltzes into a thread and beats the snot out of your character does not automatically mean that player does not like you. Just because your significant other's character has a relationship with another player's character does not mean they are cheating on you.
- Don't double post. There is an edit button. Use it.
- While there can be quips in foreign languages if you happen to have that knowledge, overall this is an English site. Please use proper English to the best of your ability (mainly in reference to ESL folks, those who are born in English speaking countries I expect better of you).
In-Character Rules
- You are not a God. No Servant is invincible, despite popular opinion.
- No godmodding or powerplaying. Godmodding is controlling the actions of the other party, powerplaying is making your actions beyond what they could be. Example of Godmodding: forcing an enemy to take your sword laser to the face. Example of Powerplaying: Being bound by Gilgamesh's chains and still dodging the sword rain that follows despite it making no sense.
- No Metagaming. I would normally list this with godmodding and powerplaying, but it is such a big thing on our site in particular that it deserved its own separate rule. Metagaming is using knowledge you as a player possess, but your character has no logical reason to know. An example would be shouting a Servant's identity in a thread because your friend told you in a private chat because they were excited, despite them having made no reference to it in-character. This is EXTREMELY important because we are extending the information war that is Fate to both IC and OOC.
- No one-liner posts. We all have trouble coming up with a good post sometimes, but don't post one line. Try to at least write a paragraph or so.
- In 95% of situations, you cannot kill a character without their consent. If two players voluntarily get into a fight to the death and one does not post after a while, staff may allow for them to be killed if it makes sense. If you fail to post in a timely manner in a critical moment in a boss fight in the labyrinth, you may die without your consent. If you do something incredibly stupid while exploring the labyrinth, you will probably die. For reference, stupid means something akin to jumping on the tongue of a fire-breathing, lava-drooling dragon and stabbing it. From inside the mouth.
- Actions have consequences. Not everyone realizes this, but even though this is a roleplay, things you do in-character do have consequences. Accidentally blabbing something in dialogue that hints at your identity may allow people to figure out who you are. Pissing off the wrong person can cause trouble if you go exploring the labyrinth on your own. Just keep in mind what you do before you do it, and don't throw a hissy fit if things don't go your way because of your own actions.
Out-of-Character Rules
- Face-claims need to be Animanga or Video game characters. No real-life people, within certain exceptions (like if a live-action movie character has enough fan art (EX: Davy Jones from PotC)).
- To avoid having 50 Sabers and no Casters, we will actively be enforcing a limitation on Servant creation. No single class can only have a maximum of 3 Servants higher than the class with the lowest. Example: If every other class has 3 Servants except for Caster which has 2 Servans, than there can only be a maximum of 5 Sabers. Once that cap is reached, that class is prohibited until it evens out again.
- Servants cannot exist without Masters. Thus, we have to have an equal amount of Servants and Masters. This will be regulated through the Master Servant List. If there is a Servant without a Master, a Servant cannot be made until a Master is made for that Servant. Keep that in mind when coming up with characters~
- Try to post at least once a week, if not every couple weeks. It keeps things moving for everyone and thus everybody has more fun.
Graphics Rules
- Avatars for accounts are 150x150.
- Signatures can be up to 500x225.
- Do not stretch the page.
- Ideal width for Servant app images is 250px, and ideal height is around 400px. This can fluctuate some, but try to stick to about that. It makes it easier to read the app and it just looks better.
